چکیده
Fractures commonly exist in rock masses; the coalescence of fractures provides fluid flow pathways a fractured mass and greatly increases capacity rock. This work aims to study characteristics nonlinear fractures. A series tests were conducted indicated that Forchheimer law performed well when describing relationship between hydraulic gradient flow. The test results also indicate higher water pressure may induce stronger nonlinearity. Additionally, linear coefficients increase with decrease particle size filling material On basis laboratory results, classical was modified by considering influence stress on variation fracture aperture. hydro-mechanical coupling model for masses built programmed subroutine through ABAQUS. Furthermore, random discrete network generated simulated prove high velocity will result flow, not only single fracture, but network. numerical from show ratio hydraulc change weak nonlinearity and, finally, strong an gradient. It shows confining they Due complexity channels, is likely occur mass. Finally, developed applied simulate behavior underground engineering; smaller aperture is, required be order regime nonlinear.

Flow simulation in 3D Discrete Fracture Networks
Natural fractured media are characterized by their diversity of structures and organization. Numerous studies in the past decades have evidenced the existence of characteristic structures at multiple scales [1]. At fracture scale, the aperture distribution is widely correlated and heterogeneous. Fractures themselves have widely varying sizes with no obvious dominating or characteristic scale. A...
متن کاملan investigation into translation of cultural concepts by beginner and advance student using think – aloud protocols
this research aims at answering the questions about translation problems and strategies applied by translators when translating cultural concepts. in order to address this issue, qualitative and quantitative study were conducted on two groups of subjects at imam reza international university of mashhad. these two groups were assigned as beginner and advanced translation students (10 students). ...
Mathematical analysis of a discrete fracture model coupling Darcy flow in the matrix with Darcy-Forchheimer flow in the fracture
We consider a model for flow in a porous medium with a fracture in which the flow in the fracture is governed by the Darcy-Forchheimer law while that in the surrounding matrix is governed by Darcy’s law. We give an appropriate mixed, variational formulation and show existence and uniqueness of the solution. To show existence we give an analogous formulation for the model in which the Darcy-Forc...
متن کاملThermo-hydro-mechanical Coupling in Clay Barriers
A complete thermo-hydro-mechanical model is presented to tackle the complex coupling problems encountered in clay barriers. A detailed formulation coupling the heat, moisture (liquid water and water vapour) and, air transfer in a deformable unsaturated soil is given. The formulation of the AlonsoGens’s mechanical model for unsaturated soil is also incorporated. The sensitivity to some parameter...
